Choosing an electrode format
Snap electrodes are the default for general monitoring: a solid-gel Ag/AgCl element on a foam or non-woven backing, connected by the leadwire's snap. Pre-wired sets integrate the electrode and lead, which removes a failure point and suits high-turnover areas such as emergency and transport. For longer monitoring, backing material and adhesive choice matter more than the element: skin condition, expected wear time and department protocol should drive the choice, and samples are the reliable way to settle it.
