YSI is not a monitor brand — it is the thermistor convention half the industry's temperature channels are built around. A 'YSI temperature probe' is a probe whose resistance curve follows a YSI series standard: the 400 series above all, and the 700 series as the second common convention. The compatible line lists a focused set of probe references across the two series — skin and general-purpose probe references in the 409B/401 pattern family, and the adapter cables that join them to platform channels.
Everything on this page serves one warning: a probe that plugs in is not necessarily a probe that reads true. The monitor computes temperature from the curve it expects; a wrong-series probe produces a confident, wrong number. Series first, connector second — the listings here are organised in exactly that order.

Verifying a YSI match
State the series your channel expects (the monitor manual or the old probe's reference states it: 4xx references are 400-series), the site (skin vs general-purpose) and the connector. Adult and paediatric temperature probes from this factory are FDA-cleared (K193338), and disposable probes under K182667 — relevant where these YSI-convention probes are bought for the US market.

How do I know if my monitor expects YSI 400 or 700?
From the monitor's specification or the reference of the probe it shipped with (4xx = 400 series). If neither is available, tell us the monitor model and we identify the channel convention.
Can a 700-series probe work on a 400-series channel with an adapter?
No — adapters translate connectors, not thermistor curves. The series must match the channel.
Are YSI-compatible probes FDA-cleared?
Temperature probes are cleared under K182667 and reusable/disposable probes under K193338. Ask for the reference covering your model.
